Oppai Studio is a Canada-based, independent, artist-led collectibles brand founded by Matthew Rider and his wife six years ago. Matthew creates the artwork behind every release himself, giving customers the opportunity to follow both the brand and his growth as an artist over time.
The store has grown steadily since launch, with more recent growth supported by a change in how frequently the brand releases new products. For Matthew, loyalty was never intended as a tactic to drive more purchases. Instead, it was a way to thank the customers who had already supported his work and give his biggest spenders something meaningful in return.
Since Matthew and his wife launched the business, their customer base has grown steadily, with early supporters returning as his creative style and product range expanded. In an era dominated by AI-generated art, Matthew insists on designing every piece himself, giving fans an authentic connection to the brand.
As that dedicated community grew, he wanted a more direct way to show his appreciation. Inspired by his own positive experience with LEGO’s VIP rewards, Matthew decided to build a loyalty program, giving long-time fans something truly valuable to work toward.
“I know my biggest customers have spent quite a bit overall since we’ve been running the shop, so I wanted to give back to them as a thank you for all the support.”
When Oppai Studio migrated from Etsy to Shopify, Matthew evaluated several loyalty platforms before choosing BON Loyalty for its deep customization options and strong value proposition.
“BON Loyalty had the most customization for what I needed. I haven’t had to worry about it once since setting up, and I’m very glad I went with BON.”
For Oppai Studio, a successful loyalty strategy centers on two core principles:
In January 2026, Oppai Studio launched a limited-run item strictly exclusive to loyalty members. With only 100 units produced, fans could claim one by redeeming 1,000 points.
The item was intentionally designed as an aspirational goal. Rather than expecting instant claims, Oppai Studio watched as community members actively discussed saving up their points for it.
To protect the item’s exclusivity, it was listed at an intentionally high regular price. BON Loyalty then provided qualifying members with a free product discount code to redeem the item at zero cost. This clever setup kept the public from buying the item outright, while giving loyal fans a seamless claim experience.
“I still see people talking about building up enough points to redeem for the item. Even though it takes 1,000 points, they are more than happy to patiently wait until they have spent enough to get it.”

The appeal of the limited-edition reward came down to true scarcity: only 100 units were ever made. Since its launch in January 2026, members have already claimed 71 units, leaving just 29 up for grabs.
This exclusive reward gave customers a clear goal to target, while non-expiring points made reaching the 1,000-point milestone feel completely attainable. Rather than letting points sit forgotten in the background, members actively tracked their balances and shared their progress within the community as they closed in on the prize.
Beyond driving engagement, the program also delivered outstanding business results over a 12-month period:
Oppai Studio proved that effective loyalty programs don’t need short-term gimmicks. When you give customers fair time to build their balance and offer rewards that matter, engagement follows naturally.
“By spending money to make an item worthwhile to pick up, I have incentivized people to spend more overall. It absolutely paid off.”
Oppai Studio’s advice is simple:don’t just focus on how customers earn points. Think carefully about what those points actually unlock.
A higher redemption threshold succeeds when the reward is:
With its first limited release nearly sold out, Matthew is already planning the next points-exclusive drop for later in 2026. The goal remains the same: keep long-time supporters excited about accumulating their balances.
Ultimately, Oppai Studio proves that loyalty programs do not always have to fix a retention problem. Sometimes, their highest purpose is simply celebrating the devotion a brand has already earned and turning customer appreciation into a tangible experience.
