A well-structured loyalty program fosters customer loyalty, encourages repeat purchases, and boosts engagement with your store. This guide outlines the basic setup process for a BON loyalty program, including earning and redeeming points, creating referral programs, establishing VIP tiers, and customizing the program’s appearance.
Overview
What is the BON Loyalty Program?
BON is an application that facilitates the creation of a point-based loyalty program, allowing customers to earn points through various interactions with your store, such as creating an account, making purchases, referring friends, or achieving VIP status. These points can then be redeemed for rewards like discount vouchers, free shipping codes, or even free products. BON integrates seamlessly with both online stores and brick-and-mortar point-of-sale (POS) systems.
How to activate the BON Loyalty Program
To activate the BON app > Navigate to Settings > Turn On the program.
See and manage customers in the Customer Data tab
All customer profiles within your Shopify admin store are automatically synced with BON, enabling all existing customers to participate in your loyalty program. Here in the Customer Data tab, you can see detailed customer profiles, track loyalty points, and monitor their activities within the loyalty program.
Setting up options to Earn Points
Customers are motivated by earning points for their engagement. To define the ways customers can earn points, go to Point programs > Earn points. There are 18 ways to earn points, including:
- Create an account
- Complete an order
- Subscribe to the newsletter
- Complete a profile
- Happy birthday
- Leave a review
- Follow on Instagram
- Follow on X
- Follow on TikTok
- Follow on LinkedIn
- Follow on Pinterest
- Like on Facebook
- Join a Facebook group
- Subscribe on Youtube

Setting up options to Redeem Points
Once customers accumulate points, it’s time to let them redeem those points for real rewards. To configure redemption options, go to Point Programs > Redeem points.
There are 4 options designed for online stores:
- Amount discount
- Percentage off
- Free shipping
- Free product
And 2 options for POS redemptions:
- POS amount discount
- POS percentage discount

Setting up the Referral Program
A referral program empowers your customers to invite their friends in exchange for rewards, thus expanding your customer base. To set up a referral program, go to Point Programs > Referral program.
When a customer refers his friend, the referred friend receives a reward after signing up using the referral link. After the referred friend makes his first purchase, and the order is fulfilled, then the referrer will receive his referral reward.

Setting up the VIP Tier Program
A VIP Tier program segments customers into different levels, offering increasing benefits at higher tiers to incentivize loyalty. To configure it, go to Point Programs > VIP Tiers.

Customizing the Loyalty Program's appearance
You can display your loyalty program on your website in two ways: through a popup widget or a dedicated loyalty page. Customize the program’s appearance to align with your brand and impress customers.
To display the loyalty program widget on your website, follow these instructions. To customize the widget’s design, go to Branding > Theme and Widget Icon.
To create a dedicated loyalty page on your website and customize the loyalty page’s design, go to Branding > Loyalty page.
