Welcome to BON Loyalty! In this tutorial, we’ll walk you through setting up your loyalty program in no time. By the end, you’ll have a fully functional program that motivates customers and enhances engagement.
Overview
What is BON Loyalty program?
BON is an application that helps you set up a point-based loyalty program where customers earn points for actions like signing up, shopping, referring friends, or reaching VIP status. They can redeem points for rewards like discounts, free shipping, or free products. BON works smoothly with both online stores and in-store POS systems.

Step 1: Set up Earn Points actions
Go to BON > Earn points > Set up some essential point-earning actions:
- Complete an order: Define how many points customers earn per dollar spent. For example, $1 = 5 points (5% cashback equivalent).
- Create an account: Offer a bonus for creating an account, e.g., 50 points.
- Happy birthday: Celebrate your customer’s birthday with extra points, e.g., 100 points.
- Optional: Enable actions like following on social media or leaving reviews for additional engagement.

Step 2: Set up Redeem Points rewards
Go to BON > Point programs > Redeem points > Set up some essential rewards:
Define how customers can redeem points for Amount discounts, for example, 500 points = $5 off.
Consider offering scaled rewards to encourage higher engagement:
500 points = $5 off
1,000 points = $10 off
Ensure your point values are aligned with your profit margins and designed to promote repeat purchases. Don’t forget to test the redemption process to make sure everything runs smoothly for your customers.
Step 3: Launch your Loyalty program
- To activate the BON app > Navigate to Settings > Turn on the program.

2. Next, follow these steps to ensure the Widget is visible on your store:
Go to Shopify > Sales channels > Online store > Themes.

3. Click the ‘Customize‘ button on your current theme.

In the theme customization section:
Click on the App embeds icon > Turn on the switch to activate the BON widget

4. Click ‘Save‘ to complete the process.

Step 4: Notify your customers
Make sure your customers know about your exciting new loyalty program with these simple tips:
1. Create a banner on your homepage or product pages with a catchy tagline like:
- “Earn rewards on every purchase! Join our Loyalty Program today.”
2. Send an email campaign using your email marketing tool to announce the launch, including:
- A brief introduction to the program.
- Steps on how to sign up and start earning points.
- Exclusive launch offers (e.g., double points for the first week).
3. Promote on social media:
- Post about your loyalty program on platforms like Instagram, Facebook, or X.
- Share stories or reels showing how customers can benefit.
4. In-store communication (if applicable):
- Use posters or flyers to highlight the loyalty program in physical locations.
