Understand why you need to verify your email sender and its effect to your sending emails in BON
Introduction
To ensure better email deliverability and protect your brand reputation, BON Loyalty requires that you verify your email sender before sending large volumes of emails to your customers.
Overview
Why Verify Your Email Sender?
Verifying your sender email helps email providers recognize your emails as trustworthy, improving delivery and reducing the risk of your messages being marked as spam. It also helps us monitor email performance to ensure a healthy sending environment for all users.
Sending Limits for Unverified Senders
If your email sender is not verified, and you’re on the Free plan, the following limitations apply:
- You can only send in a total of 100 Welcoming emails per month to your customers.
- Once this limit is reached, email sending will be paused until it is reset in the next month, or until your sender is verified.
Bounce & Complaint Rate Monitoring
We also track your email bounce rate and complaint rate to ensure responsible sending behavior, by using different formulas depending on how many emails you send in a given month:
a. If You Send ≤ 100 Emails/Month
- Bounce Rate = Number of Bounces/Customer Count
- Complaint Rate = Number of Complaints/Customer Count
a. If You Send > 100 Emails/Month
- Bounce Rate = Number of Bounces/Emails Sent
- Complaint Rate = Number of Complaints/Emails Sent
Customer Count: Total number of customers targeted in your email campaign.
Emails Sent: Total number of emails actually sent.
Thresholds for Blocking
To maintain healthy email performance, BON Loyalty will block your email sending if either of the following thresholds are exceeded:
- Bounce Rate ≥ 2.5%
- Complaint Rate ≥ 0.05 (5%)
If your email sending is temporary suspended due to violating the two metrics above, you will need to verify your email sender to resume sending or wait until your metrics reset.
Monthly Reset of Email quota
All bounce and complaint rates are reset at the beginning of each new month. This gives you a fresh start to improve your email performance.
How to Verify Your Email Sender
To verify your sender:
- Go to Email Settings in your BON Loyalty dashboard > click ‘Verify email sender’.
- Then, a support agent will be assigned to guide you through the verification process.
- Once verified, you’ll be able to:
○ Remove the 100-email limit.
○ Improve email deliverability.
○ Avoid being blocked due to unverified sender restrictions.
