BON Loyalty’s VIP program offers exclusive perks and benefits for your most loyal customers. This feature is available in our Growth and Professional plan. To try this feature, check out our pricing plans here.
In BON, you can find this feature by going to the Points program tab > Setup Vip Tiers:
Important note: VIP Tier status
- Enabling this status will activate the whole VIP program settings. Make sure you have finished setting up the VIP Tier properly before deciding to run the program.
Note: If the start date is a future date, the VIP program will NOT run until the start date you have set.
For example: On 23rd July, After setting up the VIP program, the merchant selected the start date to be on 10th December. Then the VIP program is going to run on 10th December.
- If the VIP tier status is disabled, this will deactivate all VIP program settings immediately. Customer activities during this time will not be counted in ranking tiers.
How to set up a successful VIP Tiers
Here are 4 parts to set up a VIP program in BON:
Step 1: Tier settings
This is where to set up how your VIP program works.
NOTE: If you change any section in this Tier settings, your VIP Program will be reset, including your customers’ current tier.
After clicking the “Edit” button, you will be able to change the settings:
1. Start Date: When the VIP program is launched and starts ranking customer’s tier. This date has to be a day in the future.
2. Entry Method: Choose whether the VIP Tiers program is based on:
- Points earned: Rank your customer’s VIP tier on their points
- Money spent: Rank your customer’s VIP tier on the money amount they’ve spent
Note: Regardless of the Entry Method type, the amount used to rank will be calculated starting from the Start Date.
3. Milestone: The expiration period of your customers’ tiers:
- Lifetime: The VIP program will run continuously.
- A calendar year: The VIP program, including all customer tiers, will reset at the end of a calendar year.
Step 2: Tier list
The tier list section allows you to add and customize rewards for each tier.
To add a new tier, click on the “Add tier” button:
Note:
Changing the Entry Requirement will affect customers’ tier after the change date, and not previous customers’ tier. The entry requirement of tiers needs to be different.
To edit a tier, click “Edit”:
Tier customization options
You can find these options to customize in your tier:
- Tier title: Your tier name. Customers can see this on your website.
- Icon: Choose an existing icon or upload your own icon for the tier.
- Entry requirement: Points value / total money spent required for customers to reach the tier.
- Entry rewards: Choose the rewards when customers reach the tier.
All entry rewards are discount options. These discounts are for one-time use only. - Custom rewards: Customize special rewards when customers enter the tier. These rewards will not be managed by BON.
- Benefit for “Complete an order” rule: Set up how customers in this tier will benefit from the multiplied “Complete an order” points.
For example: If you set up for customers to earn 1 point = 1$, the benefit would be multiplied by 2 (as in the screenshot above).
Customer Alain has a 312$ order. He will earn 312 (Complete an order points) + 312 (VIP benefit points) = 624 points in total for this order.
Important note: The extra points for this “Complete an order” benefit will not be counted to rank tiers.
Ex: To reach the Gold tier, customers must have 200 points.
John the customer has:
100 points for an order
100 points for the benefit of Silver-tier (multiplied by 2 the points)
=> In this case, John still hasn’t had enough points to be in the Gold tier.
According to the screenshots above, this is the settings applied for Platinum tiered customers in my store.
- They will need to have enough 500 points in order to reach this tier.
- They will receive 01 Percentage Discount code as the entry reward ( for one time use)
- They can also receive a custom reward (handled outside of BON) “a ticket to private workshop!”
- Customers in this tier will receive “Complete an order” point reward – which will be multiplied 2 times.
For example: Normal customers receive 10 points for an order. Platinum customers can receive 10×2 = 20 points.
Step 3: VIP Tiers email notification
You could notify your customers when they reach a new tier, by enabling the ‘New tier unlocked’ email notification.
Kindly find this feature at:
- Click on ‘Branding’ on the Navigation menu => Choose ‘Setup” for Email
- Click Edit on the “New tier unlocked” email
- After finishing all the customizations, scroll up to find and click Save.
- Click on the status button to activate.
How customers see the VIP program
Customers can find the VIP Tiers tab on the widget after signing in.
In the VIP Tiers tab, it will show all the benefits they have on their current tier. They can also see the benefits of the next tiers and how they can reach higher tier(s).
Note: The progress bar will show the number of points earned from the start date, NOT all total points.
